COVID-19: Useful information for Marine and Logistics Industry

August 12, 2020

The stage four Covid-19 restrictions now in effect in Melbourne are having significant implications across all business sectors. This includes our Australian cargo, shipping, transport and logistics businesses.

In addition, the global impact of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has led to the imposition of unprecedented measures by governments around the world.

For transportation of cargo, this is creating potential cost implications, delays and changes in procedures. Whether the cargo is being shipped by land, sea or air, the impact can be severe. It has also led to a significant number of vessels lying idle and/or crews being unable to be rotated which also has implications and challenges when it comes to managing transport risk.

While by no means exhaustive, the following links may be useful in clarifying what is permitted, and how your business and your client’s businesses might be affected.
